Chennai Airport:On 11.03.2020 based on information one 66 year old male pax who arrived from Colombo by Srilankan Airlines Flight UL-125 was intercepted at exit. On persistent questioning and personal search, two bundles wrapped in adhesive were recovered from rectum. On cut opening the bundles precious stones were found concealed inside. Jewellery valuer identified the gemstones as found as Sapphire(blue and Yellow) Ruby and Chrysoberyl Cat’s eye if various cut, color size, totally weighing 3058.4 Carat valued at Rs.31.49 lakhs. Same recovered and seized under Customs Act. Pax was Arrested.
