On 28.01.2020 based on information that gold is likely to be smuggled by way of concealment from Riyadh, flight SV 766 arriving from Riyadh was rummaged. One pouch wrapped with red adhesive tape was found in one of the front seat pockets. No one came to retrieve the same. On opening 27 gold necklaces were found concealed inside. On closer examination 53 gold earrings were found ingeniously attached to the ends of the necklaces. Total jewellery of 22 K purity, weighing 585 grams valued Rs. 22.5 lakhs was recovered & seized under Custom Act as unclaimed.
